Academics
As an international school, students are also encouraged to develop a global mindset by not only developing their own national identity, but learning about and embracing the different cultures and backgrounds of others, skills crucial to life in the 21st century.

Middle Years Programme

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students from ages 11 to 15 and created to support and challenge them during this crucial stage of adolescent development by relating their academic knowledge to the outside world. Life in the 21st century places many changing demands on students’ personal, social, physical and intellectual development, of uncertainty and of questioning. The MYP curriculum is designed to help them find a sense of belonging in the ever-changing and increasingly interrelated world around them and to foster a positive attitude to learning. The foundation for these curricular goals consists of eight subjects:

  • English
  • A second language
  • Humanities
  • Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • Arts
  • Physical education
  • Technology,
Each is delivered in a way that strives to strengthen intercultural awareness, holistic learning and communication. In addition to the eight subjects, a final year project must be completed to demonstrate the skills students have developed throughout the duration of the programme.
